ROME – Russian sport, and not only, is not there and rebels against the decision of the Wada executive who disqualified the Russia for four years with the exclusion from the next Olympic and World Championships. Especially hard was Yelena Isinbayeva who is unanimously considered the greatest jumper with the ever-present rod. But there is also the three-time high jump world champion Maria Lasitskene who instead accuses the authorities of her country.

Isinbayeva: "Murder sanctions"

"These are extremely cruel, unfair and murderous sanctions against Russian sport". It is the harsh judgment that comes from the bi-Olympics of the pole vault and three-time world champion Yelena Isinbayeva, now also a Cio member in the athletes commissions. The Russian wrote it via Instagram commented on the severe sentence imposed by Wada on Russia. "Yesterday after learning of Wada's decision I turned off the phone – wrote the Olympic champion from Athens and Beijing – There is no need to say that this is a surprise, there is no need. Nobody hoped for a positive result after the press campaign of the last few weeks. Now we will collectively decide whether to accept things or contest the decision before the Tas. We will soon be holding the Rusada Council (the Russian Antidoping Agency, ed) whose decision on this will be the starting point for any initiative "It is difficult for me to understand," Isinbayeva concluded, "I wonder how Wada can defend the rights of clean Russian athletes by asking them to compete under the neutral flag."

Putin: "Wada has violated the Olympic card"

The decision does not go down even to President Vladimir Putin. "Every punishment should be individual based on what each individual commits – the Russian premier said -. There can be no collective sanctions, even the Wada experts know it well. The decision has nothing to do with sport "There is no intent to safeguard the clean sport. We will appeal against this political sentence. Wada has violated the Olympic charter," Putin concluded.

Lasitskene: "We had to be vigilant"

The three-time high jump world champion Maria Lasitskene is instead a voice out of the chorus and points the finger at the Russian sports authorities. While Russian politicians and athletes attack the world anti-doping agency Wada branding the beating inflicted on their sport as a "policy", Lasitskene wrote an open letter accusing the Russian sports authorities of not having adequately supervised the doping and of not having therefore defended honest Russian athletes. "If the main perpetrators of the scandal have been raised" doping "Why hasn't the situation changed? Because in our track and field athletes are still widely used prohibited drugs, the coaches of the athletes caught in the doping quietly work while the officials falsify the official documents?" the champion was asked in her open letter.

Gravina: "Important decision"

The decision to exclude the Russia from the Olympics and the World Cup for the next four years "is in line with the principle of respect for the rules. It is an important decision and it seems to me that we want to safeguard the true value of the sports competition". The president of the FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, said this during a press conference in Rome at the end of the Federcalcio Council.
