Enter the igloo filled with smog and really understand what it is like to breathe, sometimes extremely polluted air. They are called Pollution Pods and were designed by the British artist Michael Pinksy on the occasion of Cop25, the UN conference on climate change. The installations reproduce in geodesic domes – hemispherical structures composed of a network of beams – the pollution and air quality of some of the world's major cities, such as Beijing, London, Delhi and São Paulo. But also that of Tautra, in Norway, one of the most pristine environments on Earth. The air quality level is then shown on a monitor.
In Madrid, Teresa Ribera, Minister of Ecological Transition of Spain, and Maria Neira, Director of the Department of Public Health and Environment of the World Health Organization (WHO) entered the igloo.
