Motorway straights, suburban sections, a succession of curves, up to the narrow streets of the villages: both models proved to be versatile and reliable. Two different cars, but similar in terms of performance and safety that they are able to instill in the driver. The Casa di Arese, for the Model Year 2020 edition, has made a tangible step forward, working at improving interiors, infotainment and ensuring level two assisted driving. The latter uses the Bosch technology, with the new features enclosed in the acronym ADAS, which include the intersection assistant (ie "see" the vehicles coming from the side and covered by buildings), the recognition of the signals.

Systems that allow you to always keep the surrounding environment under control within a distance of 160 meters, of report the presence of moving objects and vehicles, also calculating the speed, to keep the car in the center of the lane, to detect if the driver has a sleep or distraction, to keep the speed within the limits imposed from time to time. The medium range front radar sensor, acting in synergy with the camera, makes it possible to make up for even a not perfect demarcation of the road markings.

The priority today is technical excellence, which also means increasingly refined infotainment and interactive, with one 8.8 inch touch screen screen and on-board connectivity that increases safety and guarantees the possibility, via smartphone, to carry out numerous functions remotely. The interiors are now more comfortable, more elegant and more technological, with a new central tunnel with wireless charger for the smartphone and a new gear lever upholstered in leather.

Even in mechanics evolution is obvious. They are very silent cars the new Alfa and the perceived quality has greatly increased. The steering has been made even more precise, to eliminate the "jumping" in maneuver, and the efficiency of the engines has been enhanced. Here they are in range: for Giulia the 2.2 JTDM is available in 4 power levels: 136, 160, 190 and 210 HP. The 2.0 petrol delivers 200 or 280 hp. Access for the Stelvio is the 2.2 turbodiesel 160 hp, to get to 190 and 210 hp, while gasoline 2.0 reaches 280 hp. On all of them there is an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The exterior is almost identical to the outgoing versions, so as not to upset the design that represents one of the elements most loved by the "alpinists". They have been rather dust off some trims of the past, with a Basic version, a Super version, a Sprint, a Veloce and finally a more elegant one International Tourism. In the same spirit, some historical colors have been revisited for Stelvio and Giulia MY 20: the ocher of the GT Junior and the red 6C Villa d’Este for the SUV and, on Giulia, the green Visconti. These new Alfa cars thus appeal to a wider, younger and more feminine audience. The price list will be defined in January, but an important role will play it Leasys, the FCA long-term rental company that will create a real personalized sharing.
