MONSELICE – At the train station of Monselice a local police officer fired five shots into the air to block a pickpocket in action, but the thief managed to escape and is now on the run, wanted by the police. It was shooting Orpheus Dargenius who is the deputy mayor of the neighboring municipality of Solesino. The station was cordoned off and the public access was closed.
THE FACT. At around 18.30 the thief tried to steal the bag from a woman who walked down the street about 100 meters from the station. A passer-by witnessed the scene and, waving, drew the attention of a passing traffic police patrol. Promptly intervened, the firemen launched themselves in pursuit of the pickpocket given to the escape.
