Tottenham appeals for the red card in Son after the foul on Andre Gomes

Why did the referee opt for the most severe measure? This was clarified by an official note of the Premier League in the hours immediately following the championship race: the direct expulsion was motivated by the need to censor an intervention that "put the safety and security of a player in danger" because of that foul operation.

Andre Gomes was operated on his right ankle for the displaced fracture: the operation was perfectly successful and, almost certainly, in the next few days he will receive the sight of Son. The Tottenham footballer, desperate for what happened, left the field in tears and the company decided to put at his disposal a psychological support to help him metabolize the deep sense of guilt for 'having hurt' (even if unintentionally) opponent. The Spurs technician, Pochettino, recounted what happened in those moments so strong from an emotional point of view and above all praised the Everton captain, Seamus Coleman, for reaching Son in the locker room and trying to console him.
