They robbed the Credem bank of Trapani: the three victims of the coup were arrested

Three convicted Palermo residents were arrested by the police for robbing the branch of the Credem bank in Via Virgilio, in Trapani, on 26 August, from which they had stolen a toll of 65 thousand euros. The mobile team was able to identify the three robbers thanks to the analysis of the videos of the private video surveillance systems installed in the city. To trace the cars used for the escape and identify the whole band, a particular black and white t-shirt worn by one of the three during the robbery was crucial. The images allowed the men of the Crimes section against Heritage to reconstruct the movements of the robbers, since they left the city, after the coup, until they returned to their homes in Palermo. Dozens of videos, compared with the images of the cameras in the bank branch, and numerous telephone and environmental interceptions were at the base of the accusatory system, which convinced the investigating judge of Trapani to accept the request for custody in prison

The robbers had entered the Credem branch at 11.30 am on 26 August, thanks to one of the three who, pretending to be a customer, had passed the security compass first, with the face partially hidden by a hat. Once inside, he had threatened one of the cashiers with a pair of scissors found on a desk and had him open the compass, to let the other two accomplices enter. The three criminals had then closed the employees and customers in a room together with those who gradually entered the branch, unaware of what was happening. One had moved into the vault with the cashier and the manager and had waited, for 15 minutes, for the opening of one of the two timed "treasures", where 50,000 euros were kept. The three, before escaping in two cars (a Golf and a Multipla), had forced one of the cashiers to make four withdrawal operations to get another 15,000 euros. The arrest took place this morning at 4 in Palermo in the neighborhood of Ballarò and in Misilmeri, thanks to a blitz by the mobile team of Trapani with the collaboration of that of Palermo. The three men were taken to the prison in Trapani, now they are waiting for the preliminary investigations by the magistrate.
