Considered one of the places that have written the history of Milanese nights since 1999, the Q Club is preparing to celebrate its twenty years of activity on October 25th.

I still remember the feeling I felt the first time I crossed the threshold of Q Club years ago, its lights and the surreal atmosphere generated by the creativity of the proposed evenings lived in perfect symbiosis with the electronic music proposed in the two rooms of the venue; all combined by a unique and extremely avant-garde thread.

But in addition to music, the main protagonist of his endless nights, it has also always been an extraordinary positive and peaceful vibration perceived inside the walls of the club of viale Padova 21, the same that can be perceived as an onironauta in one's own lucid, pleasant dream and from which one would no longer wish to wake up.

A feeling that continues to be felt twenty years after its opening in the unusual location of this club, which has contributed to the expansion of a niche music culture initially, to become one of the reference points for all electronic music fans today.

Thus becoming, with the passing of the seasons, an increasingly important destination in the heart of an increasingly complex Milan, Q Club solidifies its own factory brand where it is possible to have fun while listening to good music anytime. A space saturated with creativity in which to immerse oneself in order to feed on them and developed from the mind of its creator, who this year leaves over thirty years of console behind: Carlo Mognaschi.

Opened 09/09/1999 as Bar Particular, the Q Club (or more simply Q) of street in recent years has made a lot of it, and its constant metamorphosis has allowed it (despite a period of transition in the early '00s) to become one of the most sought after places in the city ; also thanks to a staff of creatives, historical partners (including Maurino and Fabrizio Bertero) and a restyling that changes their look every year; with an eye always focused on research and audio visual experimentation.

We had the opportunity to learn about the artistic path of Carlo Mognaschi as well as the history of his club in a long interview given on Parkett last year (read HERE and listen to the podcast at the bottom of the page), in which we also talked about the birth of the Q Club in a very different Milan as we know it today.

"Me and my partner at the time, after almost a year of searching for the right location, we found a billiard club inside an old electric cable factory from the 1930s, whose owner of the walls in these 20 years has become for me the father I no longer have, and helped by the brilliant mind of Fabrizio Bertero, an architect and still my partner, we have thrown him down and turned him into a super modern club for those times: steel, concrete and projections …

Q was named after a bizarre character from Star Trek, a sociopathic and whimsical demigod …

We inaugurated 9.9.99 with the exhibition of paintings by Amanda Lear, who before turning out a musical hit after the other had been Salvador Dali's muse and also had a decent talent as a painter … "

To open the dances of the new season on October 25 there will be the opening night and its protagonists will be the collective SOLID with in console P.Leone: DJ, producer and founder of the E-MISSION label from South Brooklyn, New York but based in Berlin. Grienkho: sound designer and Co-founder of Cyberspeak, label and art collective (Zona9Studio, Warehouses Party, VR Rave). Rosa Calix, a young DJ based in Milan.

The schedule of October 26 is entrusted to Escandalo with A Milanese Soap Opera (Plastik Doll, Enrico Palazzo, Daphne); while Sunday 27 is the turn of electroshock (The Zelmo and the performance of Drag Syndrome).

"In twenty years these walls, and this neighborhood, have seen so many of them: the Bronx has become NoLo, a picturesque mix of ethnic groups, creative and local of all kinds, in continuous and effervescent evolution. "La Locanda" has been transformed several times: it was born as a hybrid art gallery / club, it welcomed nice belly dancers in its "ethnic" period that practically destroyed it, it was reborn from its ashes as Q21 at the beginning of this decade. … and to start his next decade of life, we want to go back to the origins, and call it simply again Q. Let's go to the Q ". (pic: Luca Blend).
