Being in condition is not like giving a coat of paint to the wall, because the wall does not immediately become white and perfect. It takes perseverance, because the growth is gradual. Precisely for this reason the preparation takes place much earlier than the start of the competitive activity, because the physicist must receive the stimuli to undergo the loads. The friendlies are functional to this period of work, even if faced in China or in the USA, as it happens more and more often in modern football ”.

So, in your opinion, was it possible to expect a progressive physical decline of Turin from September onwards?

"It was physiological because Torino no longer had a quiet period in which it was able to train without having the objective within a short distance of an official match. The Turin weeks have always been conditioned by the problem of the race. When Sunday is played, from Thursday onwards a discharge phase begins to be brilliant at the appointment. However, not even on Tuesdays and Wednesdays can you load that much, because otherwise you risk being packed. We must therefore simply try to maintain the condition ”.

Can breaks for national teams help or not? Mazzarri in this sense expressed his dissatisfaction with this November stopover.

"And Mazzarri is right, because in the national team the players are not subjected to the same loads as when they wear their club shirts. In fact, the two games affect in a few days. National programs are congested: day before the match, match day and day after match multiplied by two. The real problem, however, will reside in the first part of this pause, which if possible will be worse than that for the national teams. In fact, in this case the children will be with their families on vacation and will not be subjected to any type of training. It will be important, therefore, to give the thirsty glass one shot at a time and not an entire bottle, otherwise the problems will not be solved, indeed they will be accentuated ".
