The operation of the State police that carried out ten precautionary measures in Messina was christened "Flower". Dozens of agents in action from dawn against prominent members and supporters belonging to a very dangerous criminal cell accused of extortion and injuries also aggravated by the mafia method, aggravated robbery and kidnapping.

The blitz is the epilogue of the most recent investigations conducted by the Flying Squad and coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Messina, on a formidable team that also had weapons and operated in different areas of the city of Messina.

Identified the current assets of a city criminal fringe that, in the context of the management of security services at various meeting places where the Messina nightlife is concentrated, had managed to impose – for security managers and public business owners – the payment of sums of money for the hiring of security personnel, even trying, in some cases, to exclude the competition and thus manage, in total autonomy, the profitable sector of safety devices at beaches, nightclubs, night clubs and others. Two members of the criminal group have been attributed two violent armed robbery with a covered face.
