Student enrollment 2020, applications from January 7th to 31st: there is the guide-families app to choose well

Part of the "machine" that leads to the enrollment of the students of the first classes of the next school year: to provide time and methods is the Ministry of Education, with the Circular n. 22994 of November 13th.

Applications may be submitted by 7 to 31 January 2020 and from this year a new App of the portal will be available to help parents choose Scuola in Chiaro, which will make it easier to access the main information on institutions.

How and when to register

Also this year, according to the MIUR, the forms for enrollment in the first classes of primary and secondary schools of I and II may be completed by the families from 8.00 on 7 January to 20.00 on 31 January 2020.

The procedure is always online via the portal Online registration. But the parents, starting from the 9:00 of the December 27, 2019, Will be able to access the registration phase that precedes the sending of the application through the portal www.iscrizioni.istruzione.it. Who has a digital identity SPID (Public Digital Identity System) will be able to enter the web section with the credentials of the manager who issued the identity. Families in difficulty may refer to schools.

The online registrations also concern the education and training courses of the regional vocational training centers (in the Regions that have joined the project). For kindergartens the procedure remains on paper. The adhesion of equal institutions to the system of Online registration always remains optional.

An App to choose the institution

To register online, families must first identify the preferred school. As always, the portal is available Scuola in Chiaro which collects the profiles of all the institutes to allow also a comparative evaluation based on one's own needs. In the portal there are in fact all the useful and necessary information for a choice as conscious as possible: from the time organization to the results obtained in the past years by the students, including the next path (possible university studies and entry into the world of work).

For Scuola in Chiaro a new App is available. Thanks to this application, starting from a dynamic QR Code associated with each school institution, it is possible not only to access the main information on the school with one's own mobile devices, but also to view some data present to compare them with those of other institutions in the area.

Primary school

The application must be submitted directly to the chosen school. Children who complete their third year of age by December 31, 2020 have priority in enrolling in nursery schools. In the case of free places, enrollments for students who turn three years in the following four months (by 30 April 2021).

However, it will not be possible to enroll younger children.

Parents can choose between normal time (40 hours per week), reduced time (25 hours) or extended up to 50 hours.

Primary School

Application forms are completed only online. Parents will enroll in the first class the children who turn six years of age by December 31, 2020. Registrations are accepted, in case of availability of places, even of the students who will turn six in the following four months, then by April 30 2021. Enrollment in the first class of the primary school of younger children is not permitted.

Parents, at the time of filling in the applications for online registration, will indicate their preferences with respect to the possible options of the weekly time that can be 24, 27, up to 30 hours or 40 hours (full time).

They may also indicate up to a maximum of two other institutions, depending on the school that constitutes their first choice. If there is no availability of seats in the first school chosen, the system of Online registration it will automatically communicate that it has forwarded the application to the schools indicated as second or third option.

I level secondary school

When registering online, parents will indicate their preferred weekly time. They can choose between ordinary time of 30 hours or extended time (from 36 up to 40 hours), if services and facilities allow it. Subordinately to the school that constitutes the first choice, it will be possible to indicate up to a maximum of two other institutions of one's own liking. For enrollment in the first musical address classes, parents must tick the appropriate box on the online registration application form.

The educational institutions will organize the orientation-aptitude test in time to allow parents, in case of lack of available places, to present a new application for enrollment to another school.

Secondary secondary school

In the application for online enrollment in the first class of a grade II secondary school, the parents will also express the choice of the study address, also indicating the option with respect to the different addresses activated by the school. In addition to the first choice school, it is possible to indicate, as a secondary step, up to a maximum of two other institutions of your choice.

Enrollment in the first classes of music and dance high schools is subject to passing a test to verify skills and attitudes. This test will be carried out in time to allow parents, in the event of failure or shortage of places, to present a new application for registration at another school.

The circular also contains detailed information on the enrollment of students with disabilities, with specific learning disabilities and non-Italian citizenship. With reference to the latter, in particular, it should be noted that even for those without a tax code it is possible to apply for online registration.

A system function, in fact, allows the creation of a "temporary code" that the educational institution will replace as soon as possible with the final tax code.
