For weeks the current Minister of Justice, Alfonso Bonafede, has been supporting the same thesis that Conte reiterated yesterday and today, namely that even if the statute of limitations enters into force on the first of January, however, it will only concern the crimes committed after he entered the code, therefore material effects will be seen at least in three years, but probably even later. So there will be plenty of time to make a law that will speed up the process of the criminal trial.

The line of Bonafede is clear: "I made two proposals, also to meet the needs of other political forces and now I believe that there will be other meetings of the majority. If we arrive at the first level of judgment, the first instance sentence, "It is no longer possible for that process to end in nothing. The State must feel obliged to give an answer of truth and justice and it does not seem to me to say something too complicated. To those who tell me we must speed up the processes, I reply that they are "I agree perfectly. Let's concentrate on the reform of the criminal trial. This is the most important point."

But it is in the concrete of the proposals that M5S and Pd do not agree, because the Pd expects the Bonafede law to be postponed if – only contextually – the reform of the penal process is not approved. Former Minister of Justice Orlando a Republic Last Friday he said he was working on the negotiation, but not to vote for the proposal by the Justice Forza Italia chief Enrico Costa who provocatively presented a scathing bill to the Chamber to postpone the entry into force of the Bonafede law.

His proposal is currently in the Justice Committee and the majority, according to him, "proceeds slowly with two hearings a week". Tomorrow it's up to the Criminal Chambers that next week will make five days of strikes with lots of demonstrations in the streets every day.

The Costa proposal will go to court anyway on December 23rd and the commission will then have to speak before that date. Costa says: "In order to tighten the times we have asked for the urgent procedure; the day after tomorrow the group leader of the classroom will examine the request, which will pass only if there is unanimity. Since there will be no unanimity, next week will be the classroom to express itself on urgency, so we will finally see if the Democratic Party, in addition to preaching well, also votes well ".

And it is evident, also due to the political work of the former Minister Costa, that there could be some surprises in the voting phase. At this point all that remains is to wait for the next summit of the governing parties, bearing in mind that the M5S is isolated on the prescription as Pd, Italia live and Leu are all in favor of a postponement.
