A man died after being hit by a tram on the outskirts of Milan, at Via Bignami. It happened at 7.30pm on a Friday night. As explained by the Atm, the Milanese transport company, the person invested – a 45-year-old man who lived in the area and was returning home – was crossing the street inside the tram lane and was not walking on pedestrian crossings or paths for pedestrians, but had perhaps decided to cut the route by passing inside the lane. The tram was traveling on viale Fulvio Testi, near via Bignami, towards Cinisello Balsamo, common on the border with the capital. The driver did not see him crossing, except at the last moment and could not avoid the impact. In that part of the track the vehicles reach the maximum speed of travel. The passer-by, hit and thrown on the sleepers about ten meters away, died on the spot. The 49-year-old driver of the 31, on the other hand, needed care, visibly shocked and transported in green code to the nearby Multimedica of Sesto San Giovanni.
