On TV the story of the girl of three hearts thanks to the Pope John XXIII hospital

Cristina Zambonini

They call her the girl of three hearts, because she has experienced the path of heart transplantation twice.

Beautiful and full of energy, Cristina Zambonini recounted her story in the RAI 3 Tgr Rai Leonardo in recent days. They call her the girl of three hearts, because she has experienced the path of heart transplantation twice. The first time at the age of 20, in 2006. The second on 26 February 2017, always in the hands of the excellence of the doctors of Pope John XXIII.

"When I decided to go to study for six months in Singapore, they came together on purpose to decide if I could go. But faced with my enthusiasm they couldn't say no, "the 33-year-old designer from Domodossola smiles in front of the cameras. Which tells another of his exploits: «I also brought my second heart to the top of Monte Rosa. Being born in Val d’Ossola, in the mountains, it was a dream of mine ».

Cristina becomes serious when she talks about donation. "My family – she says – has always been a pro donation, with father enrolled in Aido since he was 18." For his transplants he admits that he had to wait "very little" and on the anonymity of donors he has very clear ideas: "I agree; I would like to say thanks indirectly to the families of the donors ». And on the transplant he says: "Afterwards there is no healing, but a happy compromise with life".
