Naples in the grip of bad weather, the weather alert extended until 6pm on Wednesday

Civil Protection of Campania Region has extended the warning of a current weather alert for strong winds, rough seas and thunderstorms until 6pm tomorrow on the whole territory. The weather panel shows a change in the disturbance: in fact, the direction of the winds changes. The notice highlights: «Strong winds from the western quadrants with local reinforcements and possible gusts. Rough sea, with possible swells along the exposed coasts ».

The hydrogeological criticality of color was also extended Yellow for localized risk. "Sparse precipitations, even with a backhand or temporal nature, are expected to be moderate locally": up until 10pm tonight on the whole Campania, from 10 pm until 6 pm tomorrow on the whole regional territory. The Civil Protection reports that there is still a need to monitor structures exposed to the effects of winds and waves that could cause problems and damage, for example, to public parks, light poles and road signs. With regard to the phenomena related to the impact of rainfall on the ground, we note: «Possible flooding of underground rooms and those on the ground floor; Surface water flow in roadways and possible regurgitation phenomena of rainwater disposal systems with overflow and involvement of depressed urban areas; Raising of the water levels of the smaller water courses, with floods in the neighboring areas, also due to local criticalities (tombstones, shrinkage, etc.); Superficial landslides related to particularly fragile hydrogeological conditions, in basins of limited dimensions due to the saturation of soils ».

The competent authorities are advised to keep all the measures in place to prevent and combat the phenomena envisaged, both with regard to the hydrogeological risk and with regard to the stress of winds and the sea.
