Eight Moto3 riders (repeat offenders) penalized after qualifying in Valencia for 'excessive slowness'. Among them also Stefano Nepa.
The Saturday of the last Grand Prix of the season in Valencia does not close quietly for Moto3. In fact, there are heavy penalties for as many as eight drivers in the minor category of the World Championship. We are talking about Darryn Binder, Tom Booth-Amos, Jakub Kornfeil, Stefano Nepa, Ai Ogura, Can Oncu, Kaito Toba is Makar Yurchenko, all guilty of "excessive slowness" during Q1.
Several penalties were imposed on all these pilots, repeat offenders with regard to this type of infringement. Only for Can Oncu this is the second time: for him, times exceeded the limit of 112% in two or more sectors of the track during the first qualifying round. The Turkish driver receives the most 'slight' sanction, or the demotion of 12 squares on the starting grid.
For the majority of the riders involved it is the third time: we talk about Booth-Amos, Kornfeil, Nepa, Ogura, Toba and Yurchenko. They lose their qualifying placement, ending up at the bottom of the grid. In the case of Darryn Binder, it is even the fourth occasion: the South African driver will not even be on the grid, but will start from the pit lane.
