Lombard Companies in Dubai, F.Sala: "We Lead Trade with Emirates"

The workshop entitled 'UAE and Lombardy: a world of business for SMEs' was held today in Dubai, with an internationalization theme organized by the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates in collaboration with Unioncamere Lombardia and Promos. The meeting was attended by the vice president of the Lombardy Region Fabrizio Sala who is leading the institutional mission in which numerous Lombard and Emirati companies take part. The Undersecretary for Foreign Trade and Industry of the Arab Emirates Abdulla Al Saleh intervened in the work.

"Lombard exports to the Emirates – said Vice-President Sala – is worth about a quarter of Italian exports, with an interchange of over one billion euros. The Emirates also represent an important gateway to Lombardy on the Gulf, African and Asian markets ".

"It is certainly a question of collaboration opportunities – said the Vice-President of the Room who spoke at the workshop and presented the great numbers of Lombardy in particular in terms of manufacturing 4.0, Sustainability, Innovation and internationalization – which we want to implement for our companies in view of Expo 2020 ".

“Lombardy – added Fabrizio Sala – exports mainly machinery and clothing, with our Made in Italy very popular in the Emirates, synonymous with quality and elegance all over the world. Our Region is the first Italian Region in trade relations with the Arab Emirates and five Lombard provinces rank among the top twenty in absolute terms ".
