With a very popular one Press conference, on the eve of that Grand Prix of Valencia that concludes the 2019 World Cup, Jorge Lorenzo announced his retirement. Seventeen years of career: Lorenzo made his debut at Jerez 2002, having to wait a day to be able to run because Friday was not yet the fifteen years necessary to participate in the World Cup.

Three seasons in the minimum displacement, then three in 250 where he wins two world titles. In 2008 he debuted in MotoGP alongside Valentino Rossi, in the official Yamaha team. In Qatar, at his debut, he is second, in the second race he is in pole position, to the third – to that Estoril where he won and will win again – conquest his first victory in the premier class. Then comes a dark moment, because a series of falls frighten him and send him into crisis. But he holds on, he recovers and the following year he comes back stronger than before.

In 2009 he is already mature for the title but pays the greatest experience of Rossi. In 2010 the first world title arrives, which then repeats in 2012. In 2013 the terrible accident in Assen, which will leave him a more or less unconscious limit in conditions of uncertain background, e in 2015 back to the title. But the relationship with Yamaha and Rossi has been irreparably ruined, and Lorenzo goes to Ducati with the aim of bringing the Desmosedici to the title.

2017 is made up of suffering and headaches. But mutual trust disappears and at the beginning of 2018 Lorenzo changes his shirt again, moving on to the Honda dominated by Marquez. Just when everything seems compromised, at Mugello Jorge wins the first of three consecutive races. At Honda, on the other hand, destiny seems written. An injury even before the season starts puts him in a position of having to recover, in tests he can't adapt to an RC213 made for Marquez's skills and style and the rest, unfortunately, is recent history.
