Horner: "Albon is impressing the whole team" – F1 Team – Formula 1

Alex Albon packed the podium in its first high-altitude test at the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit. After the mistake made in the PL2, which led him against the barriers after only five laps completed, the rookie of the Milton Keynes team redeemed himself in the race, gaining third place during the first stint. The two-stop strategy did not have the desired effect, and the Anglo-Thai bishop finally reached the fifth finish, behind Charles Leclerc. The 23 year old was however the result best Red Bull driver, as already happened in Belgium, Italy and Japan.

Albon: "Exciting to be third"

The Milton Keynes team principal Christian Horner said he was satisfied with the performance shown by Albon during the Mexican Circus appointment: "I think his performance was quite satisfactory ", he stated at the end of the race: "I'm not sure he'd be third. He had Lewis behind him, which seemed a little faster. It would probably have been difficult to keep Leclerc behind, too, but I think it is getting closer and closer to the right pace". The British manager is of the opinion that the 23-year-old is doing a good job: "It is constantly improving. Considering that he lost almost all the PL2s, I think his recovery was very strong. He impressed the whole team with his performances until today and every weekend is progressing, becoming stronger".
