Along the Litorale di Latina, an air horn was formed that involved several areas, from the Lungomare through the Journalists Village to Via Massaro. A path that has been traced by the surveys of the Municipality technicians in charge of the function.

THE DAMAGES FINDED

On the seafront of Latina the wooden structure of a bathing establishment was completely torn down, several houses, buildings and structures were damaged. In via Zannone the roof of a house was damaged and uncovered for at least 50% of the surface, in Via Caprera innumerable damage to the houses was found. During the inspection at the Journalists' Village it was possible to verify: the fall of several tall trees on roads and houses, in some cases they were uprooted from the roofs tiles and / or tiles, in some houses the window panes exploded, parts fences are torn and / or damaged by falling trees, different material carried by the whirlwind is spread in the affected area, damaged cars. The roads Via Isola del Giglio, Strada Spargi, Strada Isola di Lampione, Via Casilina Sud (between Via Massaro and Via Isola del Giglio), Via Massaro, were examined. In this area several roofs with torn tiles have been detected, the fall of several trees, between eucalyptus and pine trees, with damage to a car and fences, a pole of the torn telephone service.

THE INTERVENTIONS

The viability has been restored thanks to the intervention of the Municipal Police, the services of the Municipality and the Civil Protection associations, together with the Fire Brigade and the Traffic Police, which have taken steps to remove fallen trees and other impediments that could hinder roads or endanger the safety of citizens. On Via del Lido, barriers were put up to delimit the area around Lago di Fogliano which, due to heavy rains, reached guard levels during the late afternoon and night.

The report of the head of the Municipal Operations Center, arch. Giuseppe Bondì, concludes: "The activities above marginalized were carried out by the staff and by the Local Police of the institution and the companies appointed by the Municipality as well as by the internal staff of the Environment Service. The Municipality has proceeded to restore the viability of Via Massaro and of the streets inside the Journalist Village ".
