Wednesday 27 November at the Iris cinema in Amalfi there will be a screening for the students of the Comprehensive "G.Sasso" Institute Amalfi of the film "Eagles Randagie".
The proposal for the screening of the film was made by scout leaders of the Amalfi group 1 and was promptly accepted by the head teacher of the Istituto Comprensivo G.Sasso ", prof. Aniello Milo.
The story is the little known one of a group of scouts who opposed Fascism giving their contribution to the construction of a new Italy.
During the Fascist period Mussolini decided to close all the associations that distinguished themselves from the official ones of the regime and the Italian Catholic scout association was part of one of these.
A group of them who worked in Milan decided not to bow to the diktat: they will be called Aquile Randagie, they will continue to meet in Val Codera, a secondary valley of Valchiavenna and to distinguish themselves, as far as possible, from the dominant fascism. When the war breaks out, their opposition will become even clearer until it flows into a movement called OSCAR that will flank the Resistance after 1943.
The film is directed by Gianni Aureli and was made thanks to a crowdfunding in which it is told, with precise historical references, of how in the Catholic world there were not only people ready for the Roman salute but also those who knew how to see injustice and tried to counter it.
