Rome, like the Capital. Rome to evoke the mythical "Dolce Vita" symbol of the 50s and 60s, which we can only imagine today by watching an old film.

This new Ferrari comes with a name and nothing short of evocative that summarizes in four letters so much of its DNA from 2 + 2 coupe in sauce Gran Turismo.

The potential customers from all over the world have seen it live during these hours during a presentation organized in Rome (obviously), but those who buy it will be able to drive it only in 2020.

Another style

Those who foresaw that this model would be one Portofino "With the roof" they were very wrong: in Ferrari they did a whole other car with a style in many ways of breaking that will be discussed. Soft, smooth and elegant in volumes, but also avant-garde and in some ways eccentric. To see and judge live.

It is certain that of "classic" there is very little inside: the cockpit was designed to form two cells further evolving the concept of Dual cockpit introduced on other recent Ferraris. And then there is the new man-machine interface that, like the SF90, has been completely digitized and can count on the mega display behind the 16-inch steering wheel.

Ferrari Rome

620 hp V8 and 8-speed gearbox

The mechanical basis derives from that of Portofino but has undergone several evolutions. The engine, to start with the supercharged V8 now delivers 620 hp (+20) at 7,500 rpm, and again qualifies as the most powerful in the segment. The pressure of supercharging benefits of variable management, for a more effective response and the particulate filter system was introduced, already seen on the F8 Tribute, which was deprived of silencers to offer a worthy soundtrack.

Then there is a new dual-clutch gearbox a 8 gears (the same as the SF90) which is more compact and lighter than 6 kg compared to the 7 gears of the Portofino. Ferrari promises, thanks to this transmission, reduced fuel consumption and more comfortable handling in city driving.

The benefits? 3.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h, 9.4 seconds to reach 200 and beyond 320 km / h of maximum speedto.

The fifth model

There Rome completes the family of new Ferraris foreseen in the 2019 that one of the most prolific vintages ever will be remembered. After the high-performance hybrid and convertibles, this model represents the new expression of everyday road Ferrari.

The name from this point of view is a whole program and in any case it keeps faith with the Ferrari tradition of binding itself to symbolic places of Italianness: Modena, Maranello, Fiorano, 458 Italia, even, or more recently Portofino and Monza. Bets are opened on the next "destination"!
