Fabiola Gianotti: "To be a scientist you need a lot of patience"
Born in Rome 59 years ago, Gianotti studied in Milan and was among the protagonists of the discovery of the Higgs boson, the particle that gives mass to everything that surrounds us, including human beings. A discovery awarded with the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2013 to physicists Peter Higgs is Francois Englert.
"Fabiola Gianotti was re-elected at the head of the CERN in Geneva until 2025. – Matteo Renzi writes in a tweet, among the first to comment on the news – It is a beautiful news, a woman who makes us proud to be Italian, a scientist who is a model for all young people, proud of you and living in Italy of research and quality ". Matteo Renzi writes it on Twitter.
Congratulations – via Twitter and in person – also from the Education Minister Lorenzo Fioramonti, for whom "The nomination (by Gianotti, ed) shows us the way to growth and competitiveness of the country: more money for research, more attention to the knowledge economy ".
