From what has emerged so far it seems that the two robbers, both armed, broke into the bar, at which point the owner would have reacted and a scuffle would have arisen during which the blows started.

The tobacconist, a Chinese citizen, was transported in red code from 118 to Umberto I where he was operated and is not in danger of life. The two robbers are Italian. The bandit died in the robbery, reached by a gunshot, he was 69 years old while the other robber has 58. The second robber would have been involved in the wounding of Marshal Marco Coira in January 1999.
