Comi, the joke is in the cards: blue stuck by friends

The delicate operation that awaited his father went well, and this is what Lara Comi cared about most. But for the former MEP of Forza Italia, other difficult hours are now opening, those in which he must prepare the crucial appointment of the first interrogation with the judge who ordered his arrest. These are hours when, reading and rereading the 120 pages of the order of custody performed at dawn on Thursday, the Comi must take note of a painful circumstance: to accuse it, to discharge them with responsibility of every kind making it end up in arrests, were two of his friends. A man and a woman who tried in every way to help, and who before the advance of the investigation decided to get out of trouble by rubbing it.

The first is Giovanni Caianiello, and for a long time he was the coordinator of Forza Italia in the province of Varese. Even when the party exonerated him after a conviction for extortion, he continued to do good and bad weather. On May 5, he ended up in his cell in the "Mensa dei povente" raid. He was tough for a while, then he realized that he had to give the prosecutors a few heads to get out. He gave him the Comi one and came home last week.

On 2 September, questioned in jail, Caianiello accused the MEP of having given himself a consulting contract by the public company Afol: "La Comi told Zingale (Afol manager, ed) that he could collaborate with Afol in relation to European projects even though stating that she would not have done it directly, as she could not do it for reasons of incompatibility but that she could have done it through a person ». Having obtained the assignment, the Comi was still dissatisfied: "The Comi – says Caianiello – complained that the recognized fee was too small and that it could not even cover the costs of the consultancy". In the minutes, he exudes the resentment of Caianiello towards his party mate, "reluctant to relegate sums of money in our favor even in the face of the fact that he knew my precarious economic conditions". In the same questioning the former Ras blue goes down heavy also on the electoral expenses of the Comi: «Following the non-candidacy to the national political elections he started to be very scared for his re-election to the European Parliament, for which he started to go spasmodically in search of financing ". And it is he who reveals a dinner at the home of Mariastella Gelmini where the entrepreneur Marco Bonometti was at the Comi: now accused of having financed his electoral campaign in black.

Even more abrupt is the rupture of the friendship between Comi and Maria Teresa Bergamaschi, a young and brilliant Ligurian lawyer, former president of the Criminal Chamber of Savona. The two have been friends for twelve years, they date, Bergamaschi often asks her for favors. And when the investigation explodes in May last year, she is working with her to hide the traces of the favors received and those returned. But after a while the fear of getting into trouble is such that Bergamaschi spontaneously introduces itself to the investigators, giving them their mobile with all the dialogues with Comi. She is interrogated, first she gets in the way, then in front of the disputes she collapses and accuses her friend Comi of having forced her to pay ten thousand euros in exchange for a consultation: «I was very upset because it was the first time I was facing a illicit request ". But then he resigns himself: except now to accuse his friend.
