On extraurban roads vulnerable users represent a very high proportion of deaths, even if down compared to last year: 31% (1 death out of 3) is a cyclist, "duer-hutist" or pedestrian. The mortality rate of the two wheels (motorcycles and bicycles) is much higher than that of the four wheels: more than 3.6 deaths per 100 vehicles involved in the accident, compared to 1.3 in the cars.
