Nicolò De Devitiis meets Elena Proietti, the woman referee attacked while refereeing a match. Hospitalized, she accuses the trade association of "feeling abandoned" and her card is withdrawn

Elena Proietti makes a punch in the face while refereeing in 2014. "I fainted and then I was hospitalized," says the referee. The consequences are serious: blindness of the right eye and deafness in the right ear. Not only that, they also take away the card from the association of referees. But why did they do it?

With Nicolò De Devitiis we go to ask Elena what really happened. The referee declares of never been protected by the association: "The only thing they asked me while I was in hospital was the competition report for the sports judge." Result? The Hague, the Italian Association of Referees, takes away the card

Elena attacks the association also writing on social media: "I tried to raise public awareness of violence against referees". Marcello Nicchi, president of The Hague, says instead: "You said you were not protected and this is a lie". The association offers her legal assistance, it also gives her the opportunity to become an association referee, but Elena would not have spoken of all this. According to the president, therefore, “the association did what he had to do".

Elena Proietti does not agree: it was a "fury on his person".
