Maurizio Sarri takes note: Cristiano Ronaldo does not need to go to the doctor. The Portuguese striker is fineindeed very well as he himself had commented sarcastically, and the confirmation came from the playing field of the Estadio Algarve in Faro where Portugal 'ate' Lithuania thanks to CR7 triplet and a decidedly convincing match.
A performance, that of the five-time Pallone d'Oro, which has effectively canceled the test with Milan (where in fact it seemed to have some problems), denied Sarri's injury theory and given the reason for the Portuguese technical commissioner who, during a press conference, had let slip a particularly acid sentence: "I don't know how we can still question Cristiano Ronaldo".
Standing ovation (and selfie) for CR7
After the four goals scored in the first leg, the Juventus striker was once again unleashed against the modest Lithuania: taken in ballon by the European champions. CR7 first gained the penalty he himself achieved at minute seven, then doubled with a powerful right under the crossbar after a quarter of an hour and finally closed a first portion of the game with other opportunities to score again.
In the second half CR7 entered again the match with the third center at the 65th, before coming out seven minutes from the end under the thunderous applause of the Portuguese fans. For the Juventus player it was a totally comforting evening from a physical point of view, which ended with a lot of selfie at the end of the race with a full-fledged field invader with his black and white jersey number seven.
Thanks to the three goals scored against Lithuania, the Madeira phenomenon has thus risen to 98 goals with its national team. In the next and decisive challenge in Luxembourg, the Juventus player will be able to go hunting not only for European qualification but also for his share 100 goals with Portugal: a goal now within its reach.
