The Licensing Commission will deliver its verdict on October 15th. Anderlecht risks a fine of up to 5,000 euros even … the unlikely non-award of its license in 2020-21.

DJo Van Biesbroeck and Bert Van der Auwera, when they entered the building of the Belgian Union, put their smile in the first minutes of the Licensing Commission hearing where they were summoned to explain the exact role of Vincent Kompany at Sporting Anderlecht. While he is officially "player-manager" at RSCA, doubts are great about an unofficial role of T1 which is prohibited to Kompany since it does not have the required diplomas.

However, the regulation with its article P332 is very clear in the matter: the head coach must have his diploma for officer. If the Licensing Commission, which will deliver its verdict on 15 October, considers that Anderlecht has circumvented the rules, the fine will be up to 5,000 euros. But that can go even further (even if it is unlikely): the non-granting of the license for the next season.

During the hearing, Nils Van Brantegem, Licensing Manager at the Belgian Union, took pleasure in loading Sporting to prove that the former Manchester City player was the real RSCA coach from the start of the season. He made reference to the club's announcement that Kompany had returned in May on the fact that he would make the tactical choices about Alexis Saelemaekers after a league match in which he claims that Kompany is the coach but also to the images where we see the Red Devil coached his teammates in Genk while being on a cooler or when he is in the middle of his players before the extension to Beerschot while Simon Davies is alone a few meters away. Elements that should convince the Licensing Commission. Especially since the Anderlecht defense has been feverish to say the least.

The Mauves speak of a "confusion"

The Van Biesbroeck – Van der Auwera duo have used their time to instill maximum doubt in the minds of those who will make the decision of a sanction or not. In addition to having indicated that Simon Davies had signed a contract for a T1 and Kompany player, Anderlecht claims that Vincent Kompany is in Anderlecht to develop a game philosophy and the "Project Kompany" but that he does not give the training – if he did it publicly during an open session, it was for commercial reasons -, does not choose only the core of 18 before the matches and does not make the changes during the game.

Regarding the references made to Vincent Kompany as coach by both the players and the media, Anderlecht evokes a "confusion" by pointing out that the "player-manager" has a much stronger personality than other people in the club and that he is an inspiration to all the young kernel players who are turning to him naturally. And if he coached at Genk, it is by excesses of enthusiasm … Last rabbit left the hat anderlechtois: the arrival of Franky Vercauteren whose personality will be much stronger than that of Simon Davies. In short, Anderlecht would have already solved the problem. Almost a proof of guilt with regard to the first ten days of the championship. The verdict, which should be a financial penalty up to 5,000 euros as for Kortrijk in 2016, will be known on October 15. Anderlecht will still be able to appeal to the CBAS.
