TENSIONS – As the firemen rally reached its end on the Place de la Nation in Paris, clashes erupted between protesters and police. The dispersal was in progress in the early evening. Three policemen were wounded and six participants arrested, according to the prefecture.
"Despite the commitments made and despite the many orders of dispersal, some protesters refuse to leave the premises and attack the FDO (police, ed)," said the police headquarters. The calm returned around 19:30 and the demonstrators began to disperse. "Isolated incidents, contained thanks to the intervention of the police, made 3 wounded among the police and gave rise to 6 arrests," said Place Beauvau in a statement. According to BFMTV, the situation degenerated after protesters went to the Paris ring road, at the Porte de Vincennes, to disrupt traffic. Significant traffic jams then formed.
