VICOPISANO. Hours of fear in Vicopisano: an armed man – Federico Ghignola, a merchant – he barricaded himself at home from 2.30pm today (October 24th) and threatens to shoot anyone approaching him. Viale Diaz is closed to traffic, the whole area has been secured with the intervention of the carabinieri. There is a group of negotiators in place to convince the man to surrender spontaneously to the police. There is great concern throughout the area: the man legally holds some guns and at least two shots were fired.

The man, together with his wife, went to visit his mother, while his father died a long time ago. Then the raptus of madness and the two blows. The two women managed to escape.
