In the United States, a video showing Keanon Lowe, coach of the football team and athletics (kind of a professor of physical education) and overseer of a high school in Portland, Oregon, is circulating a lot to disarm and hug a student who was entered a class with a rifle.

The school surveillance video shows the student, later identified as Angel Granados-Diaz, walking in the school corridor with a rifle. Granados-Diaz then leaves the frame and enters a class, from which, after a few seconds, the other students start running away.
Then Lowe can be seen coming out of the class, backing out, with Granados-Diaz's weapon in his hand. Another member of the school staff takes away his weapon, and at that point Lowe embraces Granados-Diaz, hugs him, talks to him and strokes his back to comfort him.

The video dates back to last May. The Multnomah County district attorney explained that Granados-Diaz had entered school with the intention of committing suicide and that he had not aimed the weapon at anyone other than himself.
He has been accused of illegal possession of a firearm in a public building, and sentenced to three years of probation, during which – according to the sentence – he will have to follow a course of therapy and take care of his mental health.
