RATP renamed metro stations for 60 years of "Asterix"

"Legionnaire school", "Placedeclichix", "Menhirmontant": for the 60 years of the adventures of Asterix and Obelix, RATP has renamed some stations of the Paris metro Wednesday 9 October. Many animations will also be offered during the day, and a contest was organized on social networks.

In total there are 12 metro stations that saw the RATP agents change their names during the night. Among them : "Place de Clichy", "Ménilmontant" or "Ecole Militaire". Some stations whose names already referred to periods of antiquity were simply changed panels. This is the case of the stations "Alesia", name of a famous battle, or "Poissonnière", in reference to the famous fish seller of the Gallic village.

The new signage is written with the font of the famous comic strip of René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, and features his characters Roman, Gallic or Egyptian. The station Rome, it has been "completely relooked with boards of BD to the locations of billboards," adds the RATP in a statement.

In the afternoon of Wednesday will be held a distribution of "magic potion (fruit juice)" in the presence of Asterix, Obelix and Panoramix at the "Gare de Lugdunum" (Gare de Lyon). A contest was also organized on Twitter Participants are invited to submit their best name ideas for the stations. The key: 60 comics to win.
