(Perpignan, France) Patrick Bruel is under investigation for "sexual assault" after a complaint by a masseur in Perpignan, southern France, told AFP prosecutor Jean-Jacques Fagni Friday, while the singer is the subject of another investigation in the French island of Corsica.
The facts would have occurred in early July during a massage in the hotel where Mr. Bruel was staying on the occasion of his participation in a music festival in Argeles-sur-Mer, said the prosecutor, confirming information of the regional newspaper l'Indépendant.
The young woman in her thirties "has filed a complaint and the investigation (…) is ongoing," he added, without further details.
Contacted by AFP, the singer's lawyer, Me Hervé Temime, said he was not aware of this complaint and the investigation concerning his client.
The French singer is also targeted by a preliminary investigation for "sexual exhibition" and "sexual harassment" after accusations of another masseur of a hotel on the island of Corsica, he contests. According to the Ajaccio public prosecutor Eric Bouillard, the singer met the young woman at his place of work a few hours before a concert he gave in Ajaccio on August 9, and his entourage would have ordered a massage service from the hotel.
