Chinese photographer Youngqing Bao has been awarded the prestigious Wildlife photographer of the year 2019 for his photo "The moment". The scene is set in a Tibetan meadow. The protagonists ? A marmot of the Himalayas and a fox of Tibet.

The photo is remarkable of intensity between the two animals between the fear of dying and the necessity of hunting to live. "This powerful photo represents the ultimate challenge of nature, its battle for survival, in a unique and unforgettable moment", said the London Natural History Museum on Twitter, relays the Huffingtonpost website.

"The images of the Tibetan Plateau are already quite rare, but capturing such a strong interaction between a Tibetan fox and a marmot, two species essential to the ecology of this region of high meadows, it is extraordinary", said the chairman of the jury, Roz Kidman Cox.
