NBA: Pascal Siakam signs a four-year, $ 130 million extension with the Toronto Raptors

            <p>The Toronto Raptors granted a four-year, $ 130-million extension to Pascal Siakam on Saturday.

The Raptors had until Monday to conclude this deal.

Siakam, 25, had his best season in the NBA last year with the Raptors, who were crowned champions for the first time in their history. He averaged 16.9 points per game and 6.9 rebounds, which allowed him to be named the most improved player in the league.

Siakam begins his fourth season in the NBA and he will be the key element of the team due to the departure of Kawhi Leonard at the Los Angeles Clippers.

He spent his entire career with the Raptors, who drafted him in the first round (27th overall) in 2016.

The defending champions will start the 2019-2020 campaign against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, but without the young rookie star Zion Williamson.
