It is an Alitalia that arrived from Rome Fiumicino the first flight, landed at 18, at the Milan Linate airport. With the 64 passengers aboard the AZ 2092, the city airport is back to operational status, after closure for works, from July. The plane, which is called Aldo Palazzeschi, is the same that brought Pope Francis on his trip to Romania.

The reopening party

The flight, as customary for the first at the reopening of a port of call, was greeted by the baptism of water: the fire brigade entwined two jets of water from two fire engines on the aircraft. In the evening, until after 11 pm, about twenty flights are scheduled to land, all of which are not including a Lufthansa. For today, a day that constitutes a sort of general test, only arrivals are expected. Departures from the second Milanese airport will resume tomorrow with a Lufthansa flight at 6.30am: a hundred flights a day, before Linate returns to full speed, starting Monday.

Greetings place, the hangar that will still host the boarding gates for some time. The works at Linate have not been completed: for now, a redone track and a new baggage handling system.
