POSSIBLE WEATHER EVOLUTION UNTIL NOVEMBER 11TH
The weather conditions are changing. A change that you will probably know, has its roots in the Atlantic Ocean.

So far, observing the trend in October, the real oceanic disturbances have not been seen. The rains that fell in some regions were encouraged by low-pressure sinks, but not by the canonical autumn modes. Soon, as we have been writing for some time, we will have very active North Atlantic depressions which we then want to define as Depression of Iceland or simply oceanic cyclonic activity does not matter.

What matters is the result, a result that should have the taste of real autumn with locally abundant rainfall and in various phases. As we will see, however, there are some substantial differences between the main mathematical forecasting models, which we will shortly describe.

SHORT-TERM WEATHER
The change has already begun, in fact in these hours we are recording the entry of a fresh North Atlantic air mass.

The weakening of the High Pressure, which will lead to a worsening rapidly slipping towards the southern regions, will be even more evident starting from the first weekend of November. Indeed, we can talk quietly about anticyclonic failure, in fact at the turn of the weekend and the beginning of the next should occur a wave of bad weather far more substantial and insistent.

A wave of bad weather with an autumn taste, given that temperatures should drop again. A wave of bad weather that should also bring snow to the Alps and along the Apennine ridge.

THE GREAT RAINS
We have defined them as such because the perspectives shown by the main mathematical models of forecasting point in that direction.

But as pointed out above, we have substantial differences that we will now describe to you. The American GFS is much more oriented towards a direct involvement of the Mediterranean. The North Atlantic depressions could choose our regions, or in any case have a direct influence with various waves of bad weather and temperatures in line or slightly below the reference climate averages.

The European ECMWF thinks a little differently, in the sense that it would see a slightly more western depression, towards the Iberian Peninsula. Here we would get southern, south-western currents, which in terms of rain would penalize some areas of Italy. In the South, at times, an African anticyclonic promontory could enter the scene.

COLD
The hypothesis GFS is decidedly colder, so much so that proceeding towards mid-November it would even hypothesize some incursions of the arctic cold.

The ECMWF hypothesis is decidedly milder, but in some ways it could prove even more rainy. To know who is right we will have to wait again, also because we all play with the details.

IN CONCLUSION
What emerges clearly is Autumn. Autumn that should actually accelerate and November could have a decidedly different trend compared to what happened this October.
