Second time in the morning, third in the afternoon. This is the report, limited to placements, of the Mexican Friday of Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque driver did not appear completely satisfied with his first track day in the track named after the Rodriguez brothers but he has already identified what could be the moment weekend key: "To win this race it will be important to hit a good start and stay ahead until the first corner, because being behind another driver creates significant problems, above all it conditions the cooling of the car. This is why the qualification will be of considerable importance " the Ferrari driver ruled, king of the pole positions this year with six starts at the stake. "It was a positive Friday for the team – added the 22 year old – our qualifying performance was pretty good and overall the car looks competitive ".
Regarding his performance, Leclerc highlighted some improvements to be made to be able to get 100% from his car: "The first session was better than the second – has explained – in the afternoon I encountered some more difficulties. I struggled with balancing my SF90 and I can still improve on my driving ". As was already anticipated on the eve, a major difficulty is represented by the chronic lack of adherence of the Mexico City track, a feature also accentuated by the unstable weather: "In general on this track the grip is very low due to the altitude which makes aerodynamic downforce less effective. Our rivals seem competitive and therefore we wait to understand what the values in the field really are. But I believe our potential is interesting " said the Ferrari driver.
