"I lost my son when he was four," says in a video shot on the occasion of the marriage of his son Stefano. The video is broadcast and commented. "I want to thank my wife who helped me build a bridge between the two families," he adds in the studio in front of Silvia Toffanin. The boy was born from the marriage of the conductor with the American psychologist Diane Zoeller. A bond that lasted 5 years, from 1983 to 1988. Together with Diane, Bonolis had another daughter, Martina.
"I reasoned more by saying 'I' than by saying 'we'. I was an absent father, then I realized that there are more important values. I allowed myself to say 'we' because I met another 'I' who helped me say ". Of this story, Bonolis also spoke in his new book, "Because I was talking to myself" confessing to having neglected his children for his career.
And on his daughter Silvia, born with serious health problems, she explains: "It is pure light".
During the episode a video of more than twenty years ago is also shown in which Bonolis speaks with his children in telephone connection from New York. "We were together recently and on the other side there had been a sort of frost. It was a time when he felt less, they were small and could not call.
