His lawyer announced that on October 31, Hunter Biden would leave the board of a Chinese company, BHR (Shanghai) Equity Investment Fund Management Company. A post that earned him continued attacks from US President Donald Trump.
It was through a statement from his lawyer, published Sunday on the Medium site, that Hunter Biden was released from silence after weeks of harsh criticism by Donald Trump, who accuses him and his father of corruption, without providing any proof.
"When Hunter continued his professional activities, he always did so, believing that he acted appropriately and in good faith. He had never considered the barrage of baseless accusations against him and his father by the President of the United States, "writes George Mesires, the counsel for Hunter Biden.
In the press release, the lawyer goes on to say: "Hunter started his business independently. He felt it would not have been appropriate to discuss it with his father and he did not do it.
George Mesires details the activities of Joe Biden's son in a Ukrainian company, Burisma, which Hunter joined on the board of directors in 2014 and resigned in April 2019.
Joe Biden launched his campaign for the US presidential election that same month.
"Despite detailed investigations, at no time did any foreign or (American) police service conclude that Hunter had committed wrongdoing during his five-year tenure," said the lawyer.
He further states that Hunter Biden has invested $ 420,000 in the capital of BHR which, according to the press release, he never received any remuneration.
After the release of this release in the media, Donald Trump returned to the charge.

Donald Trump's attacks on the Biden have multiplied since the US president was threatened by impeachment proceedings.
The congressional Democrats have indeed opened an investigation to constitute an impeachment file because they suspect Donald Trump of having just wanted to put pressure on his Ukrainian counterpart so that he looks for compromising information on the Biden .
The statement also details Hunter Biden's commitments if his father won the November 2020 US presidential election.
He agrees to abide by all Joe Biden's conflict of interest rules, "including restrictions on foreign investments".
"Hunter will agree not to serve on any board of directors and not to work on behalf of companies whose control would be in the hands of interests outside the United States. "
