Under the leadership of Acting Managing Director Noel Quinn, the UK bank has begun an in-depth review of its operations around the world following the surprise dismissal of General Manager John Flint in early August.
In France, the British group has a network of approximately 270 branches and its retail banking activities could be valued between 1.0 and 1.5 billion euros, according to KBW analysts. Of its 8,000 employees in France, about 3,000 work in retail banking.
