Guns and bombs in the house, the Army arrives In Valtesse, 25 families are evacuated

Police cars, carabinieri, army vehicles, ambulances, local police, people on the street. To whom, on the morning of Tuesday, October 29, it happened to pass in the Valtesse area, in Bergamo, this scene was presented. A deployment of forces to recover some war bombs found in an apartment in Via Bolis that made it necessary, as a precautionary measure, to evacuate the homes of that area: in total 25 families were sent away from their homes, advised of the intervention already the day before.

Everything started from the report of a lady who, in emptying the apartment in via Bolis she had put up for sale, found two guns, two bayonets, as many mortar bombs from the second post-war period and the butt of a rifle. The alert was issued to the Police Headquarters, which, through the division of the Administrative and Social Police and Immigration Division, placed the building under precautionary seizure. Tuesday morning the intervention of the Army Engineers Guastatori, who recovered the explosive devices and, after making them safe, transported them to Calcinate, where they were made to shine in a quarry. Monday was recovered in Via IV Novembre, still in the city and with the same procedure, a part of a hand grenade found in some drawers of a garage.
