The Green and White have collected, Saturday in Sao Paulo, a short victory (1-0) against Botafogo who provisionally places them five points behind the leader, Flamengo.

Slowed by two draws and a defeat in the last three days, Palmeiras relaunched in the Championship of Brazil by winning (1-0) against Botafogo Saturday night in Sao Paulo. The reigning champion takes only second place in Brasileirão, five lengths behind leader Flamengo, expected in Curitiba by Atletico Paranaense (21 hours).

The only goal of the match was scored by Thiago Santos after a one-two with Gustavo Scarpa that allowed the mid-30s to find themselves in a good position to precede the goalkeeper's exit, beaten on a cross shot (19th).
