A personal and religious "choice"
For Wafi, Jamila and Naima, politicians should not meddle in a "choice" that they consider both personal and religious. "With Islam, we are forced, for women, to put a headscarf on the head," said simply Naima, another mother.
For Djamila, it is "an object of beauty, of change". "But I do not see in any way how the veil is aggressive or provocative," she adds. "It's our symbol," says Wafi, 33, before adding, "a child can say 'no' to his father. But we can not say no to God ".
