Pension and revaluation: the effects
With the revaluation of the contribution amount appropriate to the new rate communicated by Istat, the following situation will arise:
- for those who have started to pay contributions since 1996, they will have the entire pension calculated with this system, while for those who have accumulated 18 years of contributions by 1995 the contribution share starts from 2012 onwards;
- for those with less than 18 years of contributions to 1995, the contribution concerns the years from 1996 and later.
The revaluation coefficient is equal to the average annual compound rate of change in nominal gross domestic product of the previous five-year period, so in this case it refers to 2013-2017.
The amount therefore grows in relation to the performance of the national economy, which is why in the recent past there have been low values, even below 1%.
