Di Maio: "Now let's go alone." But in the M5S it is reckoning

"Let's go alone"

The political leader of the M5S reiterated that "the experiment in Umbria did not work"and therefore it must"look forward". But from Giuseppe Conte an invitation to reflect on the next steps has arrived. The prime minister has been in favor of new territorial alliances, but the former deputy prime minister replied: "After one of our historical lows at the Regionals, I would say that it can be considered a closed experience". In the next few hours there will be a meeting with the elected representatives of Calabria and Emilia-Romagna, and he said he was sure of one thing:"No one will ask me to join forces with the Democratic Party after the Umbrian data".

The assault on Di Maio starts

Not only the parliamentarians: there is also a side against Luigi Di Maio's position Beppe Grillo. As reported by The Republic, the Genoese comedian would have said loudly: "I will not allow him to blow up the alliance with the Democratic Party". Sources of the M5S have however denied:"It is an utterly invented phrase and fruit of the imagination of the Republic". Mashed potato Roberto Fico it is unmarked: "Woe to stop the construction of the alliance with the Democratic Party". The president of the Chamber has vented:"We had to grill the system, instead the system normalized us".

Then there are the many souls dissidents also caused by the lack of sub-government appointments: the showdown for Di Maio is near. He denies: "I don't know". But in reality there are several grillini exponents on the war footing: from Alessandro Di Battista to Gianluigi Paragone, passing by Barbara Lezzi and Danilo Toninelli. Added to this is that some senators would be working on a document to put Luigi at a crossroads: "Either you are the political leader or the minister".

"More to the right"

Conte warned him: "What happened in Umbria does not necessarily have to be replicated at national level. You decide, but think about it a moment before sending it all to the air with the Democratic Party. You would commit a mistake historical". And raised a possible alliance in Emilia Romagna: "We can win and change everything". Di Maio's answer would be clear:"I can't go through the one on the left. I lose votes in favor of Meloni, do you understand?". And it also reveals the intention to move more to right: "The flows say that ours do not vote if they see us with Zingaretti. Even the maneuver seems to be left, and in fact the VAT numbers leave us. We must cover ourselves to the right".

Sources of Palazzo Chigi have denied the quotation mark attributed by Republic ("But Conte, Grillo and Fico stop their heads, don't change the line") to the president of the Council: "They are devoid of any foundation".
