The emergency services were alerted around 19:45 for a vehicle involved in "a road exit," said Marc Tessier, spokesman for the Sûrete du Quebec.
The location of the intervention was on the Laurentian Highway north, two kilometers after the exit Jacques-Bedard.
For some unknown reason, the vehicle struck a central wall and finished in the right lane along the road. The driver was unconscious when help was on site. He had wounds on his head. During his transportation to the hospital, a firefighter accompanied the paramedics to continue the care.
The Sûrete du Quebec confirmed around 9:30 pm that the driver died as a result of his injuries.
An investigation is opened to understand the circumstances.
