The Egyptian capital Cairo will host the draw of the African Champions League (chick phase) from 6 pm today.
In addition to Wydad and Raja Casablanca, qualified teams are Al Ahly (Egypt), Espérance ST and ES Sahel (Tunisia), TP Mazembe and Vita Club (DR Congo), Zamalek (Egypt) or AS Generation Foot (Senegal), USM Alger and JS Kabylie (Algeria), Sundowns (South Africa), Zesco United (Zambia), Al Hilal (Sudan), Platinum FC (Zimbabwe), Primero de Agosto, Petro Atletico (Angola). The CAF should make an urgent decision on the fate of the return match between Zamalek and the champions of Senegal.
Scheduled Saturday, September 28, it was postponed by Zamalek for security concerns. Only, the CAF rules stipulate that a change of date or place of the match must be done by mutual agreement of the two teams. In the first leg the Senegalese won (2-1). The sixteen qualified teams will be divided into four groups of four. The top seeded clubs of each group and the other 12 teams will be divided into the four groups according to the CAF club ranking as determined by the club committee on the basis of the results recorded by the teams participating in the five (5) previous editions of CAF club competitions.
The six qualifying days will be played from November 29, 2019 to March 6, 2020. The first two of each group will qualify for the quarter-finals scheduled for early and mid-April. The semifinals are scheduled for late April and early May.
The place and date of the finals which are now played on one match have not yet been determined.
