Bandits seize employees and customers and rob the bank: gang on the run with 60,000 euros

He heard shouting from the bathroom of the bank: "Help us, they robbed us". Inside there were two employees of the branch of the Banco di Lucca di Marlia and some customers, locked there by the three robbers who entered into action around 15.40 in the Via Paolinelli branch. "They were both in shock," says Fabrizio Diodati who shortly after the robbery intervened in the bank. He works at the Citti laundry and didn't notice anything. Yet just before three, with a partially misrepresented face and a Neapolitan accent, they enter the bank and head towards the counters.

One of them shows that he has a weapon in his pocket – he says a gun – but it is not extracted.
Nevertheless the employees remain terrified. One of them is forced to open the chest and then is made to sit with the others in the bathroom: here they are then closed to the keys by the criminals, who quickly leave the bank and find the way to escape. Clearly passing unnoticed. No one in fact gives the alarm. The 112 call will arrive later, when employees are released. "I went into the bank and realized what had happened – Diodati says -: inside there was a client who had come in after the robbery and not knowing what had happened she was waiting at the counter to serve her".
But the employees had been seized in the service area by bandits who had left the key inserted in the lock from the outside of the lock. "They were upset", tell those who helped them first.
Only then, some time later, the alarm was raised. The patrols of the carabinieri and the scienti fi c were on the spot and started investigating the case, listening also to the protagonists, in spite of themselves, of this bad episode. The criminals have gained time for the escape: with them they have a loot not inferior, according to the first estimates, to 60 thousand euros. A big shot, scored in a few minutes. Investigators now, through the images of the cameras, trying to put a face and a name to the band members. In the meantime, witnesses have been listened to, to look for elements that can be useful to help investigations. In the area it seems that no one has noticed anything, which also suggests that the three have moved away as if they were just customers just left the branch.
Checkpoints and research have been set up all over the Lucca Plain, but research has unfortunately not yet given the desired result.
