Vincenzo Inquieto, 51-year-old entrepreneur believed to be very loyal to the boss of Casalesi Michele Zagaria, was arrested last night at Capodichino airport in Naples by Dia men.

He came back from Romania where he managed the real estate empire created on behalf of Zagaria by his brother Nicola Inquieto, arrested in 2018. Vincenzo Inquieto was already stopped in 2011 in the blitz that led to the arrest of Zagaria. He is held responsible for the crime of criminal association of the Camorra type.

Vincenzo Inquieto has treated and protected for years the lam by Michele Zagaria, hosting it in his own apartment, and has, according to the investigators, also managed to manage the external relations by receiving and sending the pizzas of Michele Zagaria, also interacting with the other members of the family, in particular with the brothers of the boss.

A very loyal role played by Vincenzo Inquieto, already emerged when he was found in the Via Mascagni's lair in Casapesenna (Caserta) where the boss was hired on December 7th 2011 after 15 years on the run. Convicted for aiding and abetting a 4-year prison sentence, Vincenzo Inquieto was released from prison on 26 April 2015 for having served his sentence; also the wife of Inquieto was arrested and condemned for having favored the inaction of Zagaria.

For the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Naples and for the investigators of the Dia, the Inquieto family would have recycled for years the proceeds of the clan and of the same boss, investing his illicit treasure. Nicola Inquieto, Vincenzo's brother, was arrested in April 2018 in the Romanian town of Pitesti, where he had created a real estate empire by investing the clan's money; on that occasion he was seized almost four hundred properties worth tens of millions of euros. Nicola Inquieto was recently sentenced to 16 years in prison and is still in prison in Italy because of temporary delivery by the Romanian authorities.

Another brother, Giuseppe, was also arrested for contiguity to the Zagaria clan but then acquitted. However, the arrests did not stop the inquieto business. Vincenzo, the Dia's investigators verified, had now settled in Romania to "replace" his brother Nicola, and had become the new representative of the Inquieto family.

For years, before the capture of Zagaria, the 51-year-old also benefited from being close to the boss to grab public and private work orders with his companies operating in the construction, plumbing and electrical and gas distribution sectors. For a year and a half he had therefore established the seat of his business in Romania and rarely returned to Italy. The investigation against him has made use of telephone and environmental interceptions – with the collaboration of the Nic of the Penitentiary Police – of patrimonial and bank assessments and of the declarations of numerous collaborators of justice. When he returned last night, he found the men of the Dia who had notified him of the detention order in prison issued by the judge of the Court of Naples to welcome him.
